Richstone’s dedicated staff and counselors offer support and guidance to children helping them work through Adverse Childhood Experiences to develop coping strategies and long-term resilience. Our programs address root causes that may negatively impact a child’s ability to learn and gives them the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Children
Mental Health Counseling
Richstone’s mental health and trauma treatment programs move children and their families out of crisis and down a path of healing. Our individual, family and group therapy programs care for the well-being of the whole person and are individualized to meet the unique needs of each child and family.
Skill Building and Wellness
Our groups and classes offer a safe, non-judgmental place in which to learn positive communication skills and coping strategies. Our goal is to empower children with the knowledge and tools needed to develop healthy relationships, strengthen social skills, and build long-term resilience.
Home Visits
Through our Parents As Teachers, home visiting program, parents take steps towards building a loving, safe and healthy home for their children. This program is grounded in the belief that early, nurturing relationships are the basis for a child’s life-long, healthy development. Parents work with their Parent Educator to create goals that build upon the family’s strengths, promote parent-child connectedness, provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, and increase children’s school readiness and success.
Kids Club
Richstone’s Kids Club offers daily homework assistance, disguised learning opportunities, and enrichment activities for students in grades 1-8. The program operates Monday thru Friday during after school hours. Kids Club promotes educational achievement, builds character, and teaches positive behavior skills that help students avoid violence and negative influences.
